France - Canal du Midi - part 3

We left Homps and made our way through the single lock at Jouarres. The power of the water coming in through the gates is great to watch. You need to hold on tight to the ropes to stop your boat from hitting the sides of the lock, especially if you are at the front. Most locks can fit 4 small boats but less if the boats are large ones. Mostly we go through with 2 or 3 in each lock.
